Our 6th Annual Drummathon was a completely reimagined version of Drummathon - it was held as a 100% online event on Facebook Live, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Top fundraising drummers and celebrities sent in their drum solo videos; our founder and breast cancer survivor, April Samuels, chatted with multiple celebrity rockstar drummers and brave breast cancer survivors, even taking questions from online attendees. After six hours of convos and amazing drum solos, the event moved to YouTube Live where The Breast Cancer Can Stick It! Band (featuring our founder April Samuels on drums) performed a set of music from each of their homes - and for four of the tunes, they were joined by celebrity drummers Jimmy D'Anda (BulletBoys), Lori Peters (Skillet), Sandy Gennaro (Joan Jett), Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction) and Tiny Biuso (HED PE). After our namesake band finished there set, Back in Black, A Tribute to AC/DC, hit the Lava Cantina stage for a live stream, also on YouTube Live Despite never holding an online event of this magnitude, our incredible Committee raised nearly as much as the previous year and raised $55,585 - of that the online fundraising raised over $42,000! Drummathon 2020, presented by Love Life Foundation, will be a Virtual Live Stream this year, open to all around the world! What better way to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month than to hold our largest annual fundraiser the first Sunday in October? Drummers, musicians, and friends come together from all over the world to raise funds through their own online fundraising page to fight against breast cancer. Then on October 4, 2020 our Virtual Live Stream Drummathon will commence with live music, auctions, celebrity guest appearances, breast cancer survivors, drum solos by top fundraisers, and top 3 fundraiser interviews streamed straight to the comfort of your home!

Breast Cancer hasn't stopped and neither have we. Going VIRTUAL allows anyone to join from around the world and raise funds.

All funds raised go towards mammograms, financial assistance for breast cancer treatment, and for breast cancer research and trials.

What is the Drummathon?

Drummathon is an annual family-friendly fundraising event that brings together the drumming community (of all skillsets and ages) for one common goal: to fight breast cancer.

As Drummathon works to fight breast cancer, it is also a celebration of life, music, and passion! Top fundraising drummers have the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of family, friends and attendees on a global stage! The event also features auctions, sales of Official Breast Cancer Can Stick It! merchandise and Drummathon gear, with some great musical guests sprinkled throughout the event. It's fun for the whole family! Leading up to the event, drummers, musicians, and friends alike raise funds online to compete for a plethora of awesome prizes.

The 2015 inaugural event was hosted by Dan Shinder of Drum Talk TV and kicked off right with rock star drummers Carmine Appice (Ozzy, Rod Stewart, Ted Nugent), Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio, Heaven & Hell), and Matt Starr (Ace Frehley, Bang Tango, Mr. Big). Since that time, the celebrity alumni list has grown to 13 rockstars, growing each year.
